Sporting a tuxedo t-shirt and graying goatee, local man and “amateur bassist” Kyle O’Donnell shrugged his shoulders when asked what he thought of Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy performance.
“The fire was cool, don’t get me wrong,” O’Donnell said, “I just didn’t really get it.
Plus, I’m pretty sure that was a picture of Africa, but it said Compton. Someone really needs to be checking the facts on these shows!”
“But did you see Johnny Depp up there! Holy smokes! I had no idea he was such a multitalented artist,” he said, in regards to Depp’s performance in tribute to recently deceased Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. “Probably his best performance since The Lone Ranger. Or maybe even Pirates of the Caribbean. It was just so crazy to see Jack Sparrow up there playing Lemmy’s greatest.”
As for his thoughts on To Pimp A Butterfly as a whole, O’Donnell said “I think I read it in 8th grade or so. Don’t remember much.”
