After a tense week filled with heated exchanges, reps from both Taylor Swift and Kanye West’s camps have confirmed that all disputes from hereonout will be settled in a rap battle.
This comes after a lyric on Kanye’s latest album, The Life of Pablo, in which Kanye raps that “he made that bitch [Taylor] famous” and that they will probably have sex.
To this, Taylor replied in her Grammy acceptance speech for Album of the Year, “there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.” It is also reported she said “I am talking about Kanye West here,” but that has yet to be confirmed.
What has been solidified, however, is that all future arguments will be settled in a rap battle over beats produced by Mike Will Made It.
“I saw 8 Mile when I was 14, and something about Eminem’s performance stuck with me,” Swift said. “I feel like there’s no other option here.”
“Unfortunately, it has to come to this,” West said in an interview outside of his West Hollywood home. “I’m trying to be as democratic as possible about the situation, and I think that both of our concerns are valid. This is the best way for us to voice them.”
Swift has reportedly been seen pacing back and forth angrily wearing oversized gray sweatpants in preparation.
